Hotel Laundry's
IN-HOUSE OR OUTSOURCED LAUNDRY?
Hotel Laundry Equipment?
We all know how crucial the quality of the laundry is in shaping guests' perception of the service at a hotel and of the hotel itself. Every one at some stage will have to make the critical decision on whether to set up an in-house laundry facility or outsource the job to a linen rental facility.
Clearly, hotels will be influenced in their decision-making by what the company they are dealing with can offer them. However, even though some independent studies have shown that hotels can save up to 40% on their laundry costs by opting for an in-house laundry rather than a contract with a linen rental facility, every case is unique and every laundry service deserves an objective study to test and analyse this theory in depth. That's why at Laundry Machine we offer a full consultation process and work with you to find your ideal solution to your needs.

TAKING THE PLUNDGE
Hotel management is demanding enough without additional burdens! Getting money in, only letting it out when you need to and balancing books and staff take up so much time that seemingly less important management functions get pushed to the end of the line.
It's not surprising therefore, that when considering laundry needs, the line of least resistance is to use laundry hire rather than lose management time worrying about soap powder and ironing boards.
There are often sound business reasons why laundry hire makes more sense than an on-premise laundry but if you consider the savings you could make, along with the obvious advantages of having full control of your linen, a on premises laundry starts to make sense. If your hotel has not pursued the idea because you believe the switch will create more problems than the money it will save why not contact Laundry Machine Ltd for a no obligation assessment of your laundry needs.
Laundry handling decisions need careful consideration, not only in view of the cash involved but also because of less tangible aspects such as the hotel's image, the degree of local control required and the need to make efficient use of space and staff time. There can be no overall "right" option for every hotel.
Laundry Machine specialize in on premise laundry's and currently work with a large number of Hotels across the UK. Our customers range from some of the smallest B+B to some of the most grand hotels with equipment to suit.
So why not call Laundry Machine today and arrange a free site visit to discuss your laundry requirements when we will be delighted to help you and at the same time may be able to resolve any existing problems you may have.
BUYING THE CORRECT MACHINE
Reliability and cost of operation are functions of the equipment you have. Well-built machines that are maintained properly should give many years of reliable service, and should produce a good quality product without damaging linens. (Proper laundering, in fact, should extend linen life.) Cost of operation may be related to the age of the equipment. Once upon a time, nobody worried about how much electricity, gas or water they were consuming -- it was simply too cheap to be of concern. If your machines date back to that bygone era, they are probably gobbling up utilities at an alarming rate.
Choosing the right equipment, in fact, can go a long way toward solving other laundry-room problems, as well.
For instance, new washers may help your personnel turnover problem. Good, professional laundry equipment comes with a choice of control options: some use a program card to control water temperature, length of soak, rinse and wash cycles, etc.; others use a pre-programmed microprocessor, still others can be custom-programmed. Whichever option you choose, it should be easy for the operator.
Pre-programming saves on operator training time, and cuts down on damage. And there is no need for personnel to be running back and forth pushing buttons every few minutes.
High G-force extraction is imperative in these modern times high spin 900 “rpm or greater” . These machines spin the cylinder much faster than in a standard washer, using centrifugal force to squeeze more moisture out of fabrics, particularly those that retain it, such as towels. High G-force machines can cut drying time by as much as half, boosting productivity and helping to eliminate bottlenecks in your laundry room.
Problem laundry, such as soiled linen are most successfully done when the washer is programmed with a special soak/prewash cycle formulated especially for that purpose.
No matter how clear-cut the case is for better washers, money is always an issue. In order to make a well-reasoned choice, you need to understand the difference between price and cost. skimming a few hundred pounds on equipment can do more harm than good, buy the wrong machine and for years your paying higher staff labour costs, higher maintenance costs and higher utility costs.
Whether you are considering a new on-premises laundry installation, or upgrading an existing one, equipment suppliers can offer you several choices for financing, leasing or renting (renting may include installation, parts and service). Your best alternative will depend on your own particular situation. Clearly, there are benefits and drawbacks to each option. Your individual situation will dictate the right course to follow.
